The Nehemiah Diet was developed out of the discipline and pleasure concept.
For most of us it takes discipline go to work and make a living each week. However, we all look forward for that "marvelous day," we call "Pay Day." We also look forward for those "two glory days" that we call weekend. Why? Because for most of us Saturday and Sunday are our days off from work. On weekends, some folks go to church, spend some quality time with their family, go to the park, or just "take it easy". Then on Monday we start the "going back to work routine" all over again.
It is much easier doing something that requires discipline three days a week than seven days a week. Why? Because our physical and emotional being looks forward for that break or time off. If we do not take time off we run the risk of what's called "burn out".
How the Diet Works
We all know that fruits and vegetables play a vital role in nutritional health. Yet, according to studies, Americans still do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. I think it's safe to conclude that it takes discipline to incorporate lots of fruits and vegetables into most peoples lifestyle. With that said here's how the Nehemiah Diet works:
Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only eat fruits and vegetables, and drink freshly made fruit and vegetable juice. To make fresh fruit juice and vegetable juice you're going to need a good juicer. If you are new to juicing or need more information on the subject please visit

Benefits of Juicing page.
The fresh juices that you'll make have an abundance of nutrients in them and will help to make you feel full throughout the day. Plus, remember you can and should eat fruits, when you want and as much as you want. You can eat grapes, bananas, oranges, pineapples, pears, coconuts, mangoes, apples etc.
On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday stop eating fruits and vegetables. Still drink your freshly made juices, but you can cut back your portions if you like. On these four days you can eat meat, bread, pasta. You can eat anything you want (within reason). Remember to apply wisdom and common sense.
Do the Nehemiah Diet for seven weeks. You should lose noticeable weight by then. You will also find that you've become more health and nutritional conscious.
Special Considerations- I do not recommend this diet if you are a diabetic because of the sugar content in fruits. Also, with all diets you should consult with a doctor before starting one.
